Look Inside the Nano World

Zone C: Tempe campus

Come and operate a scanning electron microscope! This exhibit will take you on a journey into the World of the Very Small with just a few clicks of a mouse. Nanoscale science and technology make use of materials having dimensions or features approximately in the 1 to 100 nanometers range. That’s 1,000 times smaller than the diameter of a human hair! You will operate a scanning electron microscope via remote control, and view objects at up to 100,000x magnification. There are also hands-on interactive demos exploring basic nanotechnology concepts and introducing some of the technology’s social aspects.
