Food Security for Succulents

Zone B: Tempe campus

Do plants need alternative energy sources? Can alternative energy give plants food security? For photosynthetic organisms, food security depends on availability of sunlight, which could be reduced by factors including air pollution and solar radiation management. Food Security for Succulents explores technologies that might benefit plants and ultimately provide food security for animals including humans. This is your opportunity to see the first prototype wind turbines for cacti and propose alternative energy schemes of your own. Food Security for Succulents is a preview of the Emerge festival, happening on March 21, 2020 at the Mesa Arts Center.
