Laptop Orchestra of Arizona State University

Laptop Orchestra of Arizona State (LOrkAS) is an experimental sonic art performance collective exploring the use of the laptop as ensemble instrument for musical expression.  We are using this medium to develop new possibilities and skills in listening, improvisation, performance, composition, coding, and teaching, as well as adapting contemporary classical repertoire and 'classic' laptop orchestra works for our purposes. Physics - Air, Wave & Sound - Hands On Craft
5:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Visitors can explore fun with mirrors, heat, static electricity, balancing objects and more!  Highlights include an electrostatic juggler, fun mirrors, water tornado races, floating ping pong balls.  Children will also be able to make colorful balancing butterflies, and static electric charge detectors. 

Come participate in an extraordinary take home project that involves the Physics behind Air, Wave, and Sound!
